Environment Agency Invites Stakeholders to Anticipate Decreased Air Quality

Jakarta Environment Agency invites stakeholders to formulate efforts to anticipate potential reductions in air quality.

Jakarta Environment Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said the issue of air pollution has been the focus of the Jakarta Provincial Government for the past two years.

"Jakarta is concerning air pollution handling," he said, Tuesday (5/7).

Asep said that the handling of this problem has been stated in Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 576 of 2023 concerning Air Pollution Control Strategy (SPPU) which includes a road map for solving air problems in Jakarta until 2030.

Apart from that, the Jakarta Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) and Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) are also environmentally oriented.

"The development priorities in Jakarta for the next five years, seven of the priorities are in the field of environmental development," he added.

According to him, Jakarta has big challenges in managing the environment after no longer being the nation's capital.

"The demand for Jakarta to become an independent city is getting stronger. Jakarta must be able to finance all planning needs independently," he closed.
